Stones, pearls and crystals jewelry should be treated with care just as you treat your best clothing items. With correct care your jewelry will give a long time of wearing pleasure. Taking time to clean your jewelry is worth the effort, it keeps the jewelry looking its finest.
~Jewelry Care Instruction~
1. Store jewelry in a cool dry place, out of direct sunlight (some stones such as rose quartz, amethyst, citrine, etc will fade if exposed under direct sunlight for a long period) and away from heat (extreme heat will dry out pearls). Avoid sudden temperature changes to prevent stones from cracking.
Tips: The gift box came together with your jewelry is a perfect place to store them (one box for each jewelry item to avoid them scratching each other or stones chipping). Avoid placing your stones/pearls jewelry in a place where they cannot get moisture from the air (e.g. in safety deposit box or airtight container) since they are natural products that needs to breath.
2. Clean jewelry after wearing by wiping gently with soft damp cloth. For better result, use polishing cloth to clean and polish only the metal part of your jewelry, and rub stones/crystals/pearls with a soft damp cotton cloth to remove fingerprints and keep them shiny. Polishing metal regularly will prevent tarnish build-up. Avoid rubbing polishing cloth or abrasive cleaners on the stones/pearls/crystals. Our silver polishing cloth ~used for sterling silver, but can also be used for gold & other metals, glass & mirrors~ is available by request, please contact us.
Tips: If the needs arises, you can swish jewelry lightly in a solution of warm filtered water and mild soap (choose liquid and mild hand/body soap, avoid using detergent), rinse well, wipe the excess water gently, then air dry completely before storing, BUT if you apply this method to fiber jewelry or jewelry strung on fiber, there's a risk that the fiber could stretch and/or become weakened. We do not recommend you to use jewelry cleaning solutions, steam and ultrasonic cleaners because it will cause irreparable damage to many gemstones/pearls/crystals.
3. Last on, first off. Put on jewelry after you finish all your face, body and hair make up. Put off jewelry before cleaning your make up, going to bed, exercising, swimming, washing dishes or doing housework that will expose your jewelry to grease, sweat and perspiration (which contain minerals and chemicals that will dull the stones and the metal).
Tips: Do not expose your jewelry to hairspray, perfumes, lotions, pool and sea water, chlorine, tap and well water to eliminate the need for heavy cleaning and polishing. Over time, this could greatly affect the life of your jewelry piece.
~Additional Tips & Info~
Stones and pearls usually have very small bead holes (compared to other type of beads such as glass, resin, plastic or crystal), This requires the use of fine stringing wire or monofilament for stringing. Please handle your jewelry piece as any fine piece of jewelry.
We give you 1 year guarantee for faulty such as loose crimp, insecure knot or clasp failure UNLESS if after inspection we decide that the problem is caused by mistreatment of the wearer such as broken wire or monofilament because the jewelry is being tugged or pulled, broken bead, or by nature process factor such as tarnishing (changing colour) metal. Should you break your jewelry, just let us know and we will gladly repair it for a minimal charge which will be determined at the time of inspection.
Jewelry is not a toy. Please do not let your child to play with jewelry, espescially child under the age of 5. Beads are a choking hazard for children under the age of 3. Your child most likely will not understand the value of the jewelry and may tug or pull or choose to play with it. Please supervise your children while you (or they) are wearing jewelry.
Sterling silver pieces will tarnish. Tarnishing is a natural process caused by oxidation and can easily be removed by rubbing the piece gently with a soft polishing cloth. Please do not use metal polishes and/or tarnish removers since they can damage stones/pearls/crystals and they also may remove oxidised finishes on sterling silver beads.
Prevent tarnish build-up by polishing your sterling silver metal part of your jewelry regularly using polishing cloth and storing your jewelry properly (as mentioned above). Do not place your jewelry directly in open air without any protection from storage box or cloth bag.
