Free Tutorial: Manually Twisted Wire

Ever create a wire jewelry piece that ends up with many (excess) wires of the same wire size, but you don't feel like trimming it? I did, and I found that manually twisting those wires and use it as embellishment as an effective way. This reduce wire waste and add new inspirations.

Here I will show you step by step the basics on how to create clear and even manually twisted wire. This technique is applicable to almost any size of wire (18ga-28ga) and any length, also for wires in closed spaces. All you need is your hands, with very little help from nylon jaw pliers, so you can do this anytime anywhere.

If you like to create twisted wire to get the look of "filigree", this manual technique allows you to create different looks of the twisted wire depending on how far the angle between the 2 wires that you choose while twisting.

I also included some pictures of pieces created or embellished with manually twisted wire for more inspirations.

This lesson shows you how to create twisted wires manually by hand. This very easy technique is a great use for turning too many excess wires on the piece you are creating into intricate decoration of the piece, instead of trimming the wires and wasting them off.

This tutorial allows you to easily create “filigree” wire with very minimum tools (pliers only). And since it is manually created, it also allows you to have different looks of the twist depending on how far the angle between the 2 wires.

A Tribute for Inge ~ Best Gift I Ever Had

A simple necklace just to compliment and highlight the Scarlet pendant even more.

It was saturday afternoon when I received this wonderful gift package from Inge ~ http://ingzjewelry.multiply.com.

Opening the package, wow it's a red suede box, how sophisticated and oh so sweet with little ribbon wrap. Carefully opening the box, and the marvelous things revealed, a lusciously red beautiful Scarlet pendant and stunning Carolynz blue topaz ring that I really want (plus 1pc of an Indian red Swarovski crystal 10mm + mounting not shown in the picture because I just want to highlight Inge's creation).

Both Inge's creation are really much more beautiful than it looks in the picture. I tried them right away, the blue topaz ring first. The ring suit just perfectly in my middle finger (where I used to wear ring) without having to adjust it at all, it feels so right, just like Inge has made the ring specially for me ;) Oh and it really looks beauuutifuuuul in my hand. I thought that the ring was delicate when I saw the pic, but it turns out to be really firm and solid, and comfortable to wear.

Next, the Scarlet pendant, the red colour is really stunning! Perfectly matched with silver wire and peridot making the colour even more 'alive'. The metal beads give a really sophisticated effect. I really enjoy looking at the red grape detail, it's neatly done by Inge, and is really cute.

How I can't wait to make the review, but no chance yet until today, so I just wore them on Sunday ;) Wearing the ring and pendant with just a simple black cord, I noticed that many people who passed by are looking at my chest! And people sat beside me keep looking at my finger for many times! I just put happy smile on my face :) These pieces are really attractive and catch people attention right away. I can't wait to wear them again, and learn to make one on my own also with the Master's help ;) These are really the best gift I ever had! Beautiful, stunning and neatly done by Inge, and generously given to me as a gift :) She is a highly recommended seller and jewelry artist.

The Divine Mercy Heart Necklace & Earrings

The necklace design is inspired by Nancy F.'s (Key Stone Jewelry) creation: Heart of Blue.

The pink heart druzy agate set as the focal stone reminds me of a pure heart (used to be white) get torn and ripped by betrayal, denial, lie, sin and shame of the person he loved. Yet he forgives, and gave his all for love until the end, so that the person he loved may know and experience the meaning of true love, then she will be able to love the way he has loved her. The pure heart that has been torn and shed his blood, when it is dry makes a beautiful color gradation.

Necklace fits perfectly for those with neck round 34-36cm, but can be shortened/lengthened by request. Length (chain only, exclude front side): 34cm. Front side filigree measures 10cm long from top to bottom of filigree, 10cm wide.

The matching earrings are heart shape filigree frame with 10mm fuschia Swarovski crystal heart in the center. On the sides attached little stones and crystals in graduating sizes: Swarovski crystals, dyed agate, garnet. On the bottom side hangs a Swarovski crystal in amethyst color. These beautiful earrings are hang on handmade ear wires. All parts are handmade from the same silver coated copper wire.
Size: approx. 3 inches long from top of ear wires, approx. 1 inch wide at widest part of the heart.
